Reinforcement Options

Depending on the level of security you need and the configuration of your door, our team offers several types of reinforcement:

• Steel plate: a steel plate is fixed to the interior face of your door, reinforcing its structure and making it far more difficult to force open.
• Security pivot: reinforced hinges prevent the door from being lifted off its hinges, a technique frequently used by burglars in Brussels.
• Metal frame reinforcement: a steel frame is fitted around the door casing to bind the door and frame together, resisting crowbar attacks.
• Multipoint lock: we install 3, 5, or 7-point locking systems from trusted brands such as Fichet, Bricard, Vachette, and Mul-T-Lock to ensure solid anchoring across the full height of the door.

These options can be combined with each other. For maximum protection, we recommend a complete reinforcement package combining a steel plate, reinforced frame, and a high-security multipoint lock.

Complete Armored Door

When the existing door is too old or when you require the highest level of protection, our team carries out the installation of a complete armored door. We work with leading manufacturers such as Fichet and Picard, whose armored doors are certified according to European break-in resistance standards.

An armored door includes as standard:

• A multi-layer steel panel
• A reinforced metal frame
• A high-security multipoint lock
• A cylinder protected against picking, bumping, and drilling
• Effective thermal and acoustic insulation

Technical Specifications of Door Reinforcement

Reinforcement must be specified after examining the door, frame, hinges, lock and anchors. Improving an existing door does not turn it into a certified door-set.

• Whole-door diagnosis: reinforcement must address the actual weak points in both door and frame, rather than simply adding a plate or more bolts.
• Compatibility: hinges, anchors, edge protection, lock, cylinder and hardware must operate as one coherent system.
• Verifiable certification: when a timed resistance is required, we specify a complete door-set with a certificate matching the installed reference.
• Fire doors: no drilling or extra hardware is added until compatibility with the fire rating and manufacturer instructions has been checked.

A2P BP1, BP2 and BP3 durations of 5, 10 and 15 minutes apply to complete door-sets tested in a laboratory. They cannot be inferred from the number of locking points or applied to an uncertified assembly.
