GoogleJanssens checks door thickness, the existing peephole opening and Wi-Fi before fitting an EZVIZ EP4 in Brussels. We set up the indoor screen and app with the owner; account access stays under their control.
A connected peephole, with the existing lock retained
The EP4 replaces a compatible optical peephole with an outside camera and inside screen. The EZVIZ app can display alerts, show the live view and allow conversation with a visitor. Janssens checks the door, fits the device and configures the app with you in Brussels.
Compatibility comes before installation
- Door and opening: we measure door thickness and the existing peephole opening against the manufacturer's requirements, then check the door shape, reinforcement and indoor clearance.
- Connection: Wi-Fi reception at the entrance must support the intended app functions.
- Installation permission: check building rules before modifying the door or enabling recording in shared areas.

Fitting and handover
- Check measurements, door structure and the Wi-Fi signal.
- Fit the outside camera and inside screen without changing the lock.
- Configure the owner's account and phone, test the alerts and explain access management.
What the device does
The manufacturer lists 4K imaging, a 5.5-inch colour screen, human detection, a rechargeable battery, local storage and two-way communication. Check the official EZVIZ EP4 specification for the exact model.
The EP4 lets you see and speak to visitors. It does not reinforce the cylinder, lock or door. For mechanical protection, see door reinforcement.
Privacy and shared buildings
Limit the view of common areas and public space. Before enabling detection or recording, check building rules and the applicable camera and privacy requirements. The person responsible for the system must check any registration, signage and record-keeping duties that apply to their use. Official Belgian guidance is available from BeSafe.
Janssens is an independent installer. EZVIZ remains the brand of its owner; installation does not transfer ownership of your account to Janssens.
