Replacing the cylinder: the right fix in most cases
Lost key, new home, key broken in the barrel: people often assume the whole lock must go. In most cases, replacing just the cylinder is enough — if the lock case is in good condition, a new barrel gives you back full control of your access, faster and cheaper. Our technician checks the mechanism on site and tells you honestly: cylinder only, or a full lock replacement if the case is the problem.
When should you replace your cylinder?
- Lost or stolen key — especially if your address documents were with it: whoever finds the keys knows where the door is
- Moving in — tenant or owner, you don't know who still holds copies (previous occupants, agency…)
- Key broken in the cylinder — we extract the piece and replace the barrel if needed
