Security Keys Catalog

A security key is not an ordinary key: it is a patented key whose reproduction is legally and technically controlled. In practice, no one can make a copy without your knowledge — not a former tenant, a neighbour, or a passing tradesperson. We reproduce the keys of the 26 brands below, on presentation of the ownership card, and advise you on the right level of protection.

What makes a key a "security key"?

A standard flat key is copied in minutes at any cobbler, with no authorisation whatsoever. That's convenient, but it's also the weak point of your front door: you have no control over how many copies are in circulation. A security key relies on three combined protections:

• The patent: the key's profile is legally protected. As long as the patent runs, only the manufacturer and its approved network can produce key blanks. An ordinary cobbler simply has no access to the profile.
• The ownership card: a numbered document, handed over when you buy the cylinder, that authorises ordering copies. Without this card, no reproduction is possible.
• Mechanical complexity: pins on several rows, magnetic elements, lateral tracks, reversible keys… all mechanisms that make picking and unauthorised copying extremely difficult.

"In stock" or "On order": understanding the two channels

In our catalog, each brand is classified by availability. "Service" (in-stock) keys correspond to profiles we handle routinely: reproduction is fast. "On order" keys must be manufactured by the brand itself: a manufacturing lead time applies, varying by manufacturer and model. In both cases, the original ownership card remains mandatory.

Protection levels and certification

Not all security keys are equal. Entry-level profiles offer decent anti-copy protection, while high-end models (often paired with cylinders that are A2P-certified in France or meet the European EN 1303 standard) combine anti-picking, anti-bumping, anti-drilling and anti-pulling. In Belgium, A2P certification has no legal value, but it remains a quality benchmark valued by insurers. Lost your ownership card: what to do?

This is one of the questions we're asked most. Without the card, reproduction becomes complicated — sometimes impossible without going back to the manufacturer, with proof of ownership of the property (deed, lease or building-manager authorisation). Depending on the brand, the lead time can reach several weeks. In many cases, especially if the cylinder is old, it's faster and safer to replace the cylinder: you leave with a fresh card and a key set whose circulation you control.
