With 40,062 inhabitants (2025) over 38.67 km² and a density of 1,036 inh./km², Grimbergen is one of the largest municipalities of Brussels’ northern periphery, in the Halle-Vilvoorde arrondissement. The municipality groups four sections under postal codes 1850-1853: Grimbergen (17,695 inh.), Strombeek-Bever (15,298 inh.), Humbeek (4,921 inh.) and Beigem (2,148 inh.).

Grimbergen centre : Historic core around the Norbertine Abbey founded around 1128 by Saint Norbert of Xanten. The Grimbergen beer remains historically tied to it.

Strombeek-Bever : Densest section, bordering Brussels, near the Heysel and the King Baudouin Stadium. Mixed housing of apartments and houses.

Humbeek and Beigem : More rural and residential sections to the north, along the Brussels-Willebroek canal.
