First identify the plate: a car’s front reproduction or the official rear plate. Ordering a copy and obtaining an official plate are different processes.
For a Belgian car, the front plate reproduces the assigned number; the official rear plate is handled through the DIV. A commercial order does not replace reporting a lost or stolen official plate.
Which plate needs replacing?
Your car’s front plate is damaged or missing
The reproduction uses the existing number. FPS Mobility explains the front reproduction after registration (French). The illustration shows a blank plate in a workshop, not an official plate issued by the DIV.
The official rear plate is lost or stolen
An online reproduction cannot replace it. Contact the police and follow the FPS Mobility instructions for a missing official plate (French) before ordering.
You need a motorcycle, temporary or personalised plate
Specify the vehicle category and whether a number has already been assigned. A format listed in a catalogue does not establish that it meets your administrative need. Confirm this before payment.
